Colourful trees

Jeong-Hwa Choi, a female artist who has sculptural large scale works from China to France to the Netherlands and many more places in the world. One piece made from the same metal as her "flowers trees" is similar to that of "Jeff Koons flower puppy" except Choi's is a large scale horse.

My works: 3

This work was slightly bigger and needed a little more than just hand held chiseling tools, so I used fire. It is not the first time I have used fire to burn through materials. Wood however, was hardly affected by the flames. So in due time I did eventuly finish the piece purely by carving with my hand held tools. It was an acomplishment for me but I feel progress is in store. I not only want to go large scale, I want to reduct more in my process.

This was the first wooden piece I had done. Here I learned the ways of carving in 3 dimensions and still included concept. From here I went to a larger scale and tried something a bit more ambitious. My ambition is to go bigger with the current project.

My works : 1

This was a piece I had done that involved a heavy car tire, a ladder, a couple of poches full of pigment (powder paint) and large paper. The aim was to roll the tire down the ladder and burst the pouches of pigment over the paper on the wall and ground. I succeeded in this and managed to produce some fantastic colour. Colour is going to be a factor in my current proposal.

Other Artists

These various and you may say random works are that of David Nash, Martin Puryear and Jeff Koons. I find these relevant to large scale works in which I hope to propose and some are wooden media based.

Wooden Tree Creatures

Nobody - Knows: No one knows the name of this artist. I have searched almost every website that these pictures are on, and all you can get is, amazing wooden sculpture or amazing photo's. Does anyone know who is responsible for these "Amazing Wooden Sculptures" ??

They have such a mythical feel to them as if these sculptures are hidden creatures in another world. The detail is absolutely extraordinary. I hope that I am able to one day achieve such ambitious work.
